Our History
John 12:24 – “[Jesus said,] I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
CrossWay embodies this verse of Scripture. CrossWay began its life with the closure of Church of the Covenant, a PC(USA) church which ministered to Macomb Township, MI from 1996 to 2014. Several elders from Church of the Covenant believed that our calling to serve the people of the area with the gospel of Jesus Christ was not yet complete. That group of elders sought out the Evangelical Presbyterian Church to continue the ministry. The EPC graciously agreed to work with us to begin a mission outreach — CrossWay Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
We began worshiping at Bethel Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, June 7, 2014. We were given the opportunity to move our worship back to Sunday mornings at the Weight Watchers in Chesterfield, and we began worshiping there on Sunday, January 7, 2018. We moved online at the start of the 2020 pandemic and had worship outside at the Huff’s home during the summers of 2020 and 2021. Thankfully, we were able to begin worshiping in The Upper Room in Mount Clemens beginning Sunday, November 14, 2021.
We are currently in the process of becoming a full church within the EPC. We invite you to be a part of this new start!
